Charitable Giving
Where We Work & Live
Every year we support approximately 100 nonprofit organizations through corporate charitable giving and our Helping Hands Committees. The majority of our gifts are directed to our core focus areas of philanthropy: environmental conservation, sustainable and organic agriculture, hunger, and nutrition education.

The UNFI Foundation
The UNFI Foundation awards grants to nonprofits that support healthy, organic food systems. Our grantees focus on increasing organic food production, providing research and science to develop organic farming practices, protecting the biodiversity of our seed supply, developing new organic farmers and more.
Food Donations
Through our long-standing partnership with Feeding America, we donate millions of pounds of food each year to aid in the fight to end hunger in the United States. In Canada, we have partnered with Quest Food Exchange, donating food and associate’s time to assist in Quest’s mission to reduce hunger with dignity, build community, and foster sustainability.
Community Giving
At each of our facilities a passionate group of associates operate a Helping Hands Committee, dedicated to creating meaningful change in their communities. They donate over $200,000 each year to local charities across North America.
